CORNWALL CENTRE ACU – ROD DYER KERNOW TRIAL – 11 January 2020

97 riders travelled to the ever-popular Garker valley, St Austell. Ahead of them was a 2 lap 12 section trial. Run by Camel Vale MCC on behalf of the Cornwall Centre ACU, the Rod Dyer Kernow Trial was round 1 of the Cornish Trials Championship.

Using the inside valley and travelling the length of the grounds, the riders were faced with some imposing climbs and drops. Devon youngster Tyler Rendall travelled down with his newly acquired Vertigo, and took a close-fought win from another Devonian Matthew Mc Donald, third place went to local Cornish champion George Edyvean. One youth elected to ride the main route and that was Oliver Smith.

The C/man Exp course was also tightly fought with Thomas Church taking the win from Steve Dustow and Max Hembroke. Again only one youth elected to ride this route and that was Finlay Clark.

On the C/man route while scores were a little lower, never the less it was still a close fight with the win going to Scott Dommett from Mike Champion and Wayne Vincent. On this occasion, two youths competed for the win and this time the went to Finlay Rule from Oscar Bowden.

On the N/exp route marks were well spread, ranging from low teens to high nineties, but it was Mike Jacobs who took the win from Tim Jasper and Alan Barnes, four youths rode this course with Ronnie Richards taking the youth C win and sister Iris the youth B from Taylan Brewer and Jowan Powell. Two riders on their T/shocks elected to ride this route and the winner was Martin Gilbert from John Church.

Ashley Ellery took a clear win in the novice class from Philip Kyte and Peter Pollard, Andy Skelton had a good ride on his trail bike, the Pre 65 win went to Richard Trott from Owen Clarke and Kevin Allen. On this route, there were three T/shock runners, with the win going to Andrew Cundy from John Francis and Mark Datson.

Luke Selway Clarke had a good ride for the youth C win from Johnathan Hancock and Jowan Davis.

CVMCC – GARKER TRIAL – 20.10.19

Sixty five riders visited the ever popular Garker valley for Camelvale motorcycle clubs Garker Trial. Run as round seven of the Cornish trials championship, they faced three laps of eight double subs.Under bright clear skies and with sections running in a lot harder than expected, scores remained on the high side never the less winners were found one way or another.

On the expert route George Edyvean rode well to take a clear win from Josh Wright, in the C/man exp route things were closer with Matt Tabb taking a close win from Matt Turner and Shaun Bunney. On the C/man route Ian Baker just beat Mark Datson and Phil Wickett, while the Youth A went to Samuel Wosnitzka with Finlay Rule beating Finlay Clarke for the Youth B win. Tim Jasper had a very good win beating Pete Rush and Alex Riddell for the N/exp win. Oscar Bowden took the Youth B win from Taylan Brewer.

On the White course in the mono class, the win went to Robert Richards from Peter Pollard and Buzz Bray, the Pre65 class went to Owen Clarke from Richard Trott with Steve Tabb taking the T/shock class from John Francis and Chris Anstee. Johnathan Hancock rode well taking the Youth C award from Luke-Selway Clarke.

On the Green course the youth award went to Ted Youlden-Moyle, Dave Hendry beat James Youlden and  Brian Hale for the Adult win .

Grey Beards Trial 22/9/19   West Cornwall MCC

With age of rider and machine used as the handicap, it was Peter Pollard who came out on top to take the 2019 Grey Beards Trial award. Run in the popular valley of Trevalor Woods near Gulval, the 33 riders faced 3 laps of 8 double subs.

Run with usual solo classes, it was George Edyvean who was the  best performer on the Expert route beating Matt Tabb and Matt Turner. In the C/man class it was a win for David Richards from Dave Kemp and Robin Martin, the Youth B went to Oscar Bowden. In the N/exp class, Lewis Allen just pipped Mark Hancock for the win, Iris Richards took the Youth B win with brother Ronnie taking the Youth C win. Top Novice was Phillip Roberts who took a very clear win from Benjamin Taylor and Liam Wills, on this route top Youth B  was Dylan Gardner from Jowan Powell, with William Manley top Youth C from Riley Huges Davis.

Grey Beards class winner was Peter Pollard from Chris Anstee and Peter Bullen, Jack Roberts took the Youth award on the Green route with Brian Hale beating Paul Read for the Adult win.

Colwith Farm Trial 17.8.19

A welcome return to old favorites Sheepdip and Badgers, proved popular drawing an entry of 45 riders for this years Camelvale motorcycle clubs Colwith Farm Trial. Conditions proved slippery after the recent rain, never the less a good ride gave George Edyvean a clear win from Steve Dustow. In the Cl/man Exp route scores ran on the high side with Mark Brewer taking the win from Andy Coombes and Morgan Blacker,on the Cl/man route the win went to flying chef John Young from David Richards and Chris Tabb.

Mike Jacobs took the N/exp class win from Lewis Allen and Glen Brewer, the N/exp T/shock win went to Michael Clarke from Steve Tabb, only one youth rode this route and that was Taylan Brewer. In the Nov class scores were very wide spread with Jack Hawke taking the win from Ian Farthing and Liam Wills, Richard Trott was the lone Pre 65 runner and in the T/shock class the win went to Peter Bullen from Keith Vercoe and Kevin Hawke.

On the Green route the adult win went to David Hendry from Stuart Dymond and Brian Hale, only one youth rode this route and that was Jack Sanders having his very first taste of trials riding.

Trebarrow Summer Trial 2019

Dry conditions, and a very warm day, greeted the Thirty riders to Trebarrow near Bugle for Camel Vale’s Summer Trial. Taking the sections in his stride a clear win went to Stefan Goodman from Josh Wright . Using the numerous rooty banks, sharp drops and loose rocky climbs, the 30 riders were faced with 4 laps of 7 double subs for cl/man up to experts, and 3 laps of 7 double subs for the rest. In the Cl/exp class Andy Coombes took a high scoring win from Matt Tabb. In the C/man class it was a clear win for Sam Rule from Chris Tabb and Ian Yeates, another clear win went to Finlay Rule from Oscar Bowden for the Youth B win. Mike Jacobs had a close win over Alan Barnes in the N /exp with Alex Riddell not a to distant third, the Youth B on this route went to Taylan Brewer from Iris Richards and Jowan Powell, Ronnie Richards rode well for his Youth C class win. Two t/shocks rode the white course with Chris Anstee beating Keith Vercoe.

 In the Novice class the win went to Dale Evans, young Jowan Davis took the Youth C award.

On the Green course the Youth win went to Ted Youlden-Moyle.

FATHERS DAY TRIAL 2019

With dry weather leading up to and on the day, the thirty-one riders who travelled to the chimney stack venue Fraddon were faced with very dry grippy conditions. Run by Camborne and Redruth Motor club over four laps of eight single sub sections, the banks, roots and numerous steps did little to stop the riders.

Taking the overall win was David Richards who beat Dave Kemp and Sam Rule, but David was matched by Y/B winner Finlay Rule who beat Iris Richards and Kira James. In the N/exp class the win went to Mark Hancock from Rob Stallard. Top Novice went to Jack Hawke from Adrian Lean and Dominick Gallahger while in the T/shock class the win went to Chris Anstee from Andrew Wetherelt and Richard Trott. Jowan Powell was best Y/B, with Ronnie Richards beating Jowan Powell for the Y/C class win.

On the Green course the Youth class was taken by Thomas Powell with David Hendry beating Brian Hale for the Adult win.

Eric Trembath Trial 2019

Twenty eight riders travelled to Tregew Farm Breage to compete for the Eric Trembath Trial. Run by West Cornwall Mcc over three laps of eight double subs, the sometimes slippery valley proved fairly innocent with generally competitive scores in most classes. This year with a small expert entry the win went to Simon James, with Matt Tabb beating Andy Coombes for the Cl/man expert win. Local man David Richards took the Cl/man win from Dave Kemp and Robin Martin, only Mike Jacobs rode the N/exp route and therefore took the win, Iris Richards beat Kira Sasero James for the Youth B award on this route.

In the novice class the win went to Jason Davis from Jack Hawke and Adrian Lean, with Chris Anstee beating Peter Bullen and Francis Hawke for the T/shock class, the Youth B win went to Jowan Powell and in the Youth C class the win went to Ronnie Richards from Jonathan Hancock and Riley Huges Davis.

Report CVMCC Hay Farm Trial 19.5.19

Hay Farm Trial.

The 41 riders who made there way for the Hay Farm Trial @ Hay farm Wadbridge , were faced with 3 laps of 8 double sub sections, consisting of roots ,climbs, drops, fallen trees and a slippery rocky river stream. Only two championship runners rode the main course, and the honour of the overall win went to currant Cornish Trials Champion George Edyvean from Simon James. In the Cl/exp class the win went to Matt Tabb from Morgan Blacker and Andrew Cundy, the Youth B award on this course went to Finlay Rule taking the next step up from the Cl/man route. In the C/man class the win went to Scott Dommett from David Richards and John Young, riding well Oscar Bowden took a well earned Youth B win. The N/exp class proved tight at the top with the win going to  Alan Barnes from Lewis Allen with Glen Brewer a distant third, young Iris Richards and Taylan Brewer also rode this course with the win going to Iris. GOOD FRIDAY TRIAL.

George Edyvean takes a good win in Camelvale’s Good Friday Trial to extend his lead in this years Cornish Trials Championship, with Stefan Goodman rueing his error in section 15 when he missed a gate. Run in the ever popular Garker valley, the 56 riders faced 3 laps of 8 double sub sections. Set out on the demanding side, dry weather and a beautiful day kept results on the reasonable side. In the C/man Exp class Max Hembroke rode well beating Morgan Blacker and Matt Tabb, in the Cl/man class the top three were only seperated by 4 marks with John Oliver taking the win from David Richards and Dave Kemp. Oscar Bowden took the Youth B win with Finlay Rule being forced to retire, Alan Barnes rode well beating Pete Rush and Mike Jacobs for the Mono N/exp class. Taylan Brewer was best Youth B beating Kira Sarsero James and Iris Richards who had to be split on the most cleans rule.

Best mono win went to Andy Skelton riding his Gas Gas trailbike to good effect from Barry Davis and Ian Farthing, lone Pre65 was Richard Trott taking the win, top T/s was Steve Tabb who beat Chris Anstee and Keith Vercoe. Finlay Clarke took a very clear win in the Youth B class on this route beating Jowan Powell, with Iris Richards brother Ronnie beating Luke Clarke and Jowan Davis for the Youth C class win. David Hendry was best adult on the Green course beating Stuart Dymond and Tim Powell, lone Youth C was Thomas Powell.

Trebarrow Summer Trial 2019

Dry conditions, and a very warm day, greeted the Thirty riders to Trebarrow near Bugle for Camel Vale’s Summer Trial. Taking the sections in his stride a clear win went to Stefan Goodman from Josh Wright . Using the numerous rooty banks, sharp drops and loose rocky climbs, the 30 riders were faced with 4 laps of 7 double subs for cl/man up to experts, and 3 laps of 7 double subs for the rest. In the Cl/exp class Andy Coombes took a high scoring win from Matt Tabb. In the C/man class it was a clear win for Sam Rule from Chris Tabb and Ian Yeates, another clear win went to Finlay Rule from Oscar Bowden for the Youth B win. Mike Jacobs had a close win over Alan Barnes in the N /exp with Alex Riddell not a to distant third, the Youth B on this route went to Taylan Brewer from Iris Richards and Jowan Powell, Ronnie Richards rode well for his Youth C class win. Two t/shocks rode the white course with Chris Anstee beating Keith Vercoe.

 In the Novice class the win went to Dale Evans, young Jowan Davis took the Youth C award.

On the Green course the Youth win went to Ted Youlden-Moyle.

FATHERS DAY TRIAL 2019

With dry weather leading up to and on the day, the thirty-one riders who travelled to the chimney stack venue Fraddon were faced with very dry grippy conditions. Run by Camborne and Redruth Motor club over four laps of eight single sub sections, the banks, roots and numerous steps did little to stop the riders.

Taking the overall win was David Richards who beat Dave Kemp and Sam Rule, but David was matched by Y/B winner Finlay Rule who beat Iris Richards and Kira James. In the N/exp class the win went to Mark Hancock from Rob Stallard. Top Novice went to Jack Hawke from Adrian Lean and Dominick Gallahger while in the T/shock class the win went to Chris Anstee from Andrew Wetherelt and Richard Trott. Jowan Powell was best Y/B, with Ronnie Richards beating Jowan Powell for the Y/C class win.

On the Green course the Youth class was taken by Thomas Powell with David Hendry beating Brian Hale for the Adult win.

Eric Trembath Trial 2019

Twenty eight riders travelled to Tregew Farm Breage to compete for the Eric Trembath Trial. Run by West Cornwall Mcc over three laps of eight double subs, the sometimes slippery valley proved fairly innocent with generally competitive scores in most classes. This year with a small expert entry the win went to Simon James, with Matt Tabb beating Andy Coombes for the Cl/man expert win. Local man David Richards took the Cl/man win from Dave Kemp and Robin Martin, only Mike Jacobs rode the N/exp route and therefore took the win, Iris Richards beat Kira Sasero James for the Youth B award on this route.

In the novice class the win went to Jason Davis from Jack Hawke and Adrian Lean, with Chris Anstee beating Peter Bullen and Francis Hawke for the T/shock class, the Youth B win went to Jowan Powell and in the Youth C class the win went to Ronnie Richards from Jonathan Hancock and Riley Huges Davis.

On the Green course the Youth C win went to Thomas Powell, Jack Roberts took the Youth D class win and Brian Hale the Adult win.

Hay Farm Trial.

The 41 riders who made there way for the Hay Farm Trial @ Hay farm Wadbridge , were faced with 3 laps of 8 double sub sections, consisting of roots ,climbs, drops, fallen trees and a slippery rocky river stream. Only two championship runners rode the main course, and the honour of the overall win went to currant Cornish Trials Champion George Edyvean from Simon James. In the Cl/exp class the win went to Matt Tabb from Morgan Blacker and Andrew Cundy, the Youth B award on this course went to Finlay Rule taking the next step up from the Cl/man route. In the C/man class the win went to Scott Dommett from David Richards and John Young, riding well Oscar Bowden took a well earned Youth B win. The N/exp class proved tight at the top with the win going to  Alan Barnes from Lewis Allen with Glen Brewer a distant third, young Iris Richards and Taylan Brewer also rode this course with the win going to Iris. The novice class win went to Andy Wetherelt from Jack Hawke. Chris Anstee took a clear win in the T/shock class with Peter Bullen and Tristan Barnicoat chasing hard behind. Youth B was taken by Jowan Powell, the Youth C win went to Ronnie Richards from Jowan Davis. Proving to be the best performer on this route was Andy Skelton on his Trailbike, with Richard Trott taking the Pre 65 win.

On the Green course the Adult win went to David Hendry from Brian Hale and Tim Powell, the youth win went to Thomas Powell.

GOOD FRIDAY TRIAL.

George Edyvean takes a good win in Camelvale’s Good Friday Trial to extend his lead in this years Cornish Trials Championship, with Stefan Goodman rueing his error in section 15 when he missed a gate. Run in the ever popular Garker valley, the 56 riders faced 3 laps of 8 double sub sections. Set out on the demanding side, dry weather and a beautiful day kept results on the reasonable side. In the C/man Exp class Max Hembroke rode well beating Morgan Blacker and Matt Tabb, in the Cl/man class the top three were only seperated by 4 marks with John Oliver taking the win from David Richards and Dave Kemp. Oscar Bowden took the Youth B win with Finlay Rule being forced to retire, Alan Barnes rode well beating Pete Rush and Mike Jacobs for the Mono N/exp class. Taylan Brewer was best Youth B beating Kira Sarsero James and Iris Richards who had to be split on the most cleans rule.

Best mono win went to Andy Skelton riding his Gas Gas trailbike to good effect from Barry Davis and Ian Farthing, lone Pre65 was Richard Trott taking the win, top T/s was Steve Tabb who beat Chris Anstee and Keith Vercoe. Finlay Clarke took a very clear win in the Youth B class on this route beating Jowan Powell, with Iris Richards brother Ronnie beating Luke Clarke and Jowan Davis for the Youth C class win. David Hendry was best adult on the Green course beating Stuart Dymond and Tim Powell, lone Youth C was Thomas Powell.
